May God bless and keep all who are reading this. I pray that all is well and all will be well in your lives.
For this week’s post I want to continue on with God Is Real. I think there is more to say and explain about being quiet with God.
As noted in last week’s blog, it was when I was quiet that God became real to me. So, what does it mean and why should we be quiet before God?
Well, let’s understand the type of quietness that I’m talking about. We are far more audible in our quietness than we realize. A person can be audibly quiet, and yet loud at the same time. For example, a person who sits quietly in a meeting and smirks the whole time. That person may not make a sound, but they are very loud with the statement they are making. A lot of times people don’t even realize that they are making these noises/statements. Obviously, this is not the type of quietness you want before God.
Now, there is also a type of quietness where you are open and empty. A quietness where you are just waiting. When you come to God, come like this: open and empty and without statements. A very simple way to sum up and say this is: come humbly. This is God’s language! His spirit literally hears your quietness when it’s like this (We’ll come back to this in a future blog!). When you come to Him like this, humbly, in a place where you stop, let go of yourself, your ideologies, etc., He can begin.
Sincerity with humility, are truly the only things that God requires from us on our side. Everything starts from there, so Jesus cannot reveal Himself or work with a person who is not humble and sincere. And, that includes stuff that you may be ashamed of before Him or things you don’t want to admit; that’s just pride again. As noted in last week’s blog, being humble, open, and sincere are key to God revealing himself. They are also key to your entire journey with Him.
Rev 3:20 — “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
