Hey everyone! I pray that all is well and all will be well in your lives.

The other day, I was going through some of the Reddit Christian forums and they were all over the place. Some posts were good; they said good things; they edified people and/or glorified God. Some posts completely blasphemed and disregarded the gospel. Other posts where people just being self-righteous or full of themselves. Then there were many posts where people simply wanted to be argumentative: completely unproductive and even a turn off to many.
Yet, in the midst of it all there were a few posts from people saying: “I’m new to Christ, how do I make this work?” or “I want to believe, but where do I start?”. These are the most important posts and the ones God wants us to answer. A new soul turning, looking or just being curious about Him, warms and touches His heart.
This blog is for everyone, but it’s primarily aimed at these types of people: people who are new in Christ or ones who want to know him.

Now, I can write and give you guidance, tell you about mysteries of God, or answer all kinds of controversial questions, but at the end of the day none of it will matter. Why would I say such a thing? Because, at the end of the day your relationship with Jesus is all that matters. If you never read anything else I write, I pray that you take this one thing away: it’s about you and him.

In the upcoming posts we will go into the fundamentals of a Christian life: prayer, reading the word and fasting. These are key to you having a better relationship with Jesus. And, I cannot stress enough how important it is for a new convert to pray and read the bible as much as possible. For these are the crucial years that will shape your growth in Christ. Just like a child needs certain foods to grow and be healthy, so do you need certain spiritual foods to grow and have a healthy relation with Christ.

When you pray, always ask for, seek, and accept the perfect will of God. Even if you don’t know what it is, still pray for it. This is so that you have a clear connection with him. And, once you’re in it, stay in it and never fall out of it. When you read the word, ask him for help to understand what you are reading. This is so that you have a basic understanding of His will and character and know what it says, so that no one can mislead you. Do not get involved with other people’s opinions, ideologies, etc. that stray from His will, and that includes your own. Remember, even Jesus said: “nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”

Living a life with Jesus is work and not every day will be sunshine. But I want you to think about the first crush you had, how you swooned for them. The world somehow stopped and all you could think about was that person. No matter what was going on in your life, just thinking about or seeing them made your day better and you smiled. That’s the relationship you should aim to have with Jesus. On the days when there is no sunshine, just being in His presence and thinking about Him will light up your world and keep you going.

Healthy relationships are two-way, where both partners give and receive. Jesus will always be there to do his part in your relationship; make sure you do your part. Never ignore him, put him off or leave him hanging. He has feelings too.. so please, don’t hurt him.

May God bless and keep all who read this.
May God bless and keep all brothers and sisters, new and old, in the faith in his name.

With his love and mine,
Chrom
