This week, the world will celebrate a New Year, and as we lead up to it, we will start to reflect on all that has happened in the current one. No matter who, or where you are, if you are human, you’ve had L’s and you’ve had W’s this year. Some years there are far more W’s than L’s, and others vice versa. Such is life, and why I’m reminded of the scripture:
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning — Psalm 30:5 (KJV)
This year you may have had a ton of Wins and may not need this verse, but for the one year and one day in particular that will come, I pray that you are reminded of it for encouragement. If this year was one full of L’s or you had a particular major Loss, remember the pain you feel today will get better with time.
The new year will acknowledge or give a somewhat formal chance/time to reset things.
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens… — Ecclesiastes 3 (NIV)
A chance/time to acknowledge God. A chance/time to forgive and heal: you cannot do the latter without doing the former first. A chance/time to start over or even a chance/time for something different.
Take advantage of this change/time in all aspects of your life.
In your spiritual life: Grow!
In your self-discipline: Commit!
In your relationships: Forgive!
In your learning: Focus!
In your work: Detail!
Whatever you set out to do next year, pray for His grace. Pray that His grace helps you do the best and most of all, that it advances you in whatever you do. As you embark, depart and journey on these goals, you may fall down and scrape your knee. Cry a little and figure out why you fell, but get back up, smile, and continue on.
I pray and hope that everyone has a blessed and happy New Year.
I pray and hope that everyone will remember to forgive, let go, be patient and show kindness (love) to ALL people.
May God bless and keep all who read this.
May God bless and keep all brothers and sisters, new and old, in the faith in his name.
With his love and mine,
Chrom
