Hey everyone! As usual, I pray that all is well and all will be well in your lives.
There are so many thoughts and opinions out there right now when it comes to God. You might even say this blog has my own thoughts and opinions. But, before you say that, understand the source and guidance of what I write. I cannot and will not write if I’m not inspired my The Holy Spirit and I cannot and will not write if I cannot backup what I say with scripture. The Bible is our standard for knowing God and that is what I testify.
I made a post on Reddit about a couple of weeks ago and it had a lot of pushback. I stand by that post and do not regret what I wrote as it is the truth and Bible based. I titled the post “You will not certainly die, the serpent said to the woman” and explained that it’s from Genesis 3:4; noting that the devil has been a liar since the beginning. I went on to say that when people tell you something contrary to the word of God, know that it is the devil working through them to get your soul. The same old trick/way he worked through the serpent to get to Eve all over again, where some examples of the lies he tells people are:
- “Don’t be so serious about God”
- “Do what YOU want”
- “Accept the parts that YOU want”
- “That doesn’t apply”
- “It’s OK if it’s not hurting anyone”
- “Don’t worry so much about your soul”
I did not write that for any self-gain. I have no benefit in the choices people make, I simply want people to have a chance, and make it to heaven. I said “contrary to the word of God”, not contrary to my words and I didn’t even go into a single issue. But most of all I ended the post with follow God’s word and conviction; know for yourself before you leave this existence. All the same holds true for everything written in this blog!
As I was reading all of the pushback, the revelation came to me that most people do not want to hear the truth. That’s why they could/would not accept such a clear and simple post. They want different versions of the gospel that suits their own needs, thoughts and opinions. Some people want a social gospel. They want to go to church to socialize: hang out, go do stuff, make friends, even find a future spouse. It’s not about spiritual growth or devotion to God for them. Others want an intellectual gospel. They want to feel good about themselves, so they dissect the word, take out the parts they don’t like, put in stuff they like until it’s what they want to hear. It’s not about yielding and following The Spirit of God for them. Then there are even more like “gospel of prosperity” (fish and loaves), “gospel of healing”, “gospel of deliverance” and so on. Those are all spiritually true things, but they cannot exist independently. You cannot have prosperity without doing all of the gospel, you cannot have healing without doing all of the gospel, and you cannot have deliverance without doing all of the gospel. There is simply “The Gospel”, unadulterated. If the unadulterated gospel is accepted and followed with the guidance of His Spirit (which is paramount) all of these things will manifest themselves. The gospel is a multiple course meal where you have to eat it all; you cannot pick and choose. And, Jesus is the main course of that meal.
This was Judas Iscariot’s core problem. He followed Jesus, but his heart wasn’t with Jesus, because he didn’t love him. He followed him, because he wanted a gospel of prosperity; that’s where his heart was.
4 But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected,
5 “Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.”
6 He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it. — John 12:4-6 (NIV)
The type of gospel that you accept, follow, and embrace is where your heart will be. If it’s not the full unadulterated gospel where Jesus is the main course, then you too are like Judas and will lose out with God.
Accept, follow, and embrace Jesus because you love Him.
If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. — John 14:15-17 (NIV)
It is His Spirit, The Spirit of truth, The Holy Ghost, which guides us to know the unadulterated gospel. So follow Him and yield to his conviction, not your own needs, thoughts and opinions.
If you are not saved/redeemed please do so today.
Come to God open, empty and without statements.
Ask him to be real to you and believe in Him.
Humble yourself before Him, confess who you are, and your sins.
Ask Him to forgive you and to come into your life and start a personal relationship.
Believe this and be born again!
May God bless and keep all who read this.
May God bless and keep all brothers and sisters, new and old, in the faith in his name.
With his love and mine,
Chrom
